The Quigley Shooting Asssociation
THE QUIGLEY SHOOTING ASSOCIATION.
JUNE QUIGLEY COMPETITION.
Saturday 24th June, a dry morning following Friday’s downpours, but made quite cold by the ubiquitous snaking Diggle wind which made top coats mandatory.
The firers assembled at 400yds for stage 1, which continued our customary format of a fouling shot followed by two sighters and fifteen shots to score at the Quigley bucket. Highest scorer on this stage was Dennis Richardson with 42 points against nearest rival Eric Todd with 33 points. After lunch, stage 2 was a reprise of stage 1 only this time on the buffalo silhouette at 600 yds. Top scorer on this stage was Darren Wallis with 57 points followed closely by Bob Marsh with 48 points.
On adding the scores it was found to be a tie between Eric and Darren, both scoring 79 points. Final positions were decided on the number of ‘buckets’ hit at 400 yds.
The final result was as follows.
Pos. Shooter. Score.
1. Eric Todd 79
2. Darren Wallis 79
3. Dennis Richardson 73
