THE QUIGLEY SHOOTING ASSOCIATION.

JUNE QUIGLEY COMPETITION.

Saturday 23rd June, a dry but overcast morning made quite chilly by the ubiquitous snaking Diggle wind which made an extra layer mandatory.

The firers assembled at 400yds for stage 1, which continued our customary format of a fouling shot followed by two sighters and fifteen shots to score at the Quigley bucket. It soon turned onto a four horse race with Bob Marsh on 42 points against nearest rival Darren Wallis on 39 points, Eric Todd with 38 points and Dave Coleman on 34 points. After lunch, stage 2 was a reprise of stage 1 only this time on the buffalo silhouette at 600 yds. Top scorer on this stage was Eric Todd with 41 points followed closely by Dennis Richardson with 39 points and Darren Wallis with 34 points.

On adding the scores it was found that Eric had done enough to take first place with a total of 79 points with Darren taking runner-up with 73 points.

The final result was as follows.

Pos.            Shooter.                                  Score.

1.                Eric Todd                                79

2.                Darren Wallis                          73

3.                Bob Marsh                              58

Everyone is now looking forward to good weather on the 14th July for the 1000yd Billy Dixon shoot.
